Lavatube Ecig Description and Impressions
The Lavatube approximately 7.5 inches tall with the drip tip and atomizer installed. Although this is tall by most standards the Lavatube is slender considering it has a trust fire 18650mah battery in the device. Surprisingly one of the things most interesting about the Lavatube is that it is quit light weight for its size. This makes the larger size of this e cigarette mod feel more comfortable when vaping so the size is less of a concern to the user. The lightweight is because the device appears to have an all-aluminum body and the therefore the e cigarette even with the battery installed is very ergonomic.
We have been using the Black Version of the Tube and the finish is not what we expected. The Lavatube which is available in Black, Red, and Silver versions has a textured finish. Although most everybody would like a shiny new toy, the Lavatubes finish is matte and flat so if you want shiny you have to do that yourself. The finish is durable though and has very few flaws, and it does not scrape or chip easily.

Lavatube operation (the simple description)
Utilizing the voltage spectrum is a simple operation. The upper two buttons of the three are a + and - button. To change your voltage level, just press the button that corresponds to where you want to go. The red LED display will show what your current voltage setting is set at. Up or down in .1 increments from the lowest setting of 3v to the highest setting of 6v. This adjustable feature is easy to access and works very fast and well.

The third button in the group (red button) is the power on and off button. A quick press of this button will turn the LCD display and the Lavatube on or off. Simply press and hold the red button for 3 seconds and the unit cycles on/off and keeps the last voltage setting in its memory. This is great for accidental on and off cycles. Press hold, and viola it’s on or off changing states every time you wish. No complicated choices here and no menu selections to scroll through or find, simple and effective. Pressing the (red) on/off button 7 times consecutively will allow you to view the charge state of the Trust- Fire battery. The LCD screen will display battery power in volts ranging from 4.2 at full charge to 3.3 when the battery needs a charging.

One of the unique features of the Lavatube is that the design will keep Vaping at a constant voltage throughout the battery cycle until the device indeed needs a charge. This allows the user to have a consistent vapor electronic cigarette throughout use. The LAVATUBE does feature a protection circuitry to keep the device from being destroyed by bad 510 hardware also. .This little addition works by detecting shorts and under voltage and will shut the device off. So what does this mean? Well while monitoring the hardware and the battery conditions for over and under charging the Lavatube kind of has no nonsense brain built in. For those who like to cycle through different types of cartomizers, atomizers and Tube tanks this feature of protection can be a device saver if you install a bad or shorted accessory. The Lavatube also has a protection circuit built in .This “fail safe limiter” is great for 99% of the users that will be using the Lavatube, This fail safe limiter works by not shutting down the Lava tube if you attempt to run too much voltage through a low-resistance atomizer or accessory, but it will drop the voltage down to the 3.5v setting, this keeps the Lava Tube vaping but not allowing an overvoltage condition. i.e. “fail safe”

Note Here: I believe that a visual flash or indicator that the current limiter is engaged is needed. If you are using a dual coil or lower resistance accessory that will be limited to the “no fail” it would be nice to know the protection circuit if active is engaged. You cannot override this limiter to our knowledge.
